The Forgotten Curse – Chapter One
I hate road trips. That’s all my dad and I do. Drive. Drive. Drive. My home is literally a suitcase. I mean, I don’t hate it but sometimes I wish my dad wasn’t a top agent. For me the unordinary is the ordinary. I’m 19 years old and I haven’t done things most kids have done.
That’s why, I’ve decided to run away. It wasn’t that hard since my dad makes fake IDs and passports for me all the time. I did the whole thing. I got my hair dyed, got colored contacts, got a hair cut, etcetera etcetera. And BAM. I was on my way to USA. I don’t think I ever told anyone my real name before. So, I guess you’re going to be the first and …probably the last. My name’s Kim lee.
For being the daughter of an agent, I never really thought this through. So I followed my instincts. Food.<3
I walked into the nearest coffee shop and treated myself to a mocha frappuccino. Ermmagurd. The taste of freedom.
While drinking, I scanned the room with my eyes. For a coffee shop, it was really fancy. The walls were painted a soothing brown with small and large, dark violet circles in the corners of the shop. There were teenagers sitting in the circular sofas, talking about all sorts of things. But something caught my eye. There was a boy about my age who was sitting alone for a table of two. But him being alone wasn’t what caught my eye. He . was . sleeping .
Not just that, the light wasn’t all the bright, but if you were there with me, you would be able to see something shiny coming out of his mouth all the way onto the table…awkward isn’t it?
I stared at him for a few minutes and I couldn’t stand the drooling anymore. It bothered me so much, that I walked all the way over to his table and sat across from him. So, I shook him. Hard.
“Hey. hey. yo. HEY.” I whispered into his ear as I continued to shake him. God. He’s a heavy sleeper. After a while, he finally started to wake up.
“What do you want.” He was glaring at me. His voice was deep and his eyes were prettier than I expected it to be. Sadly, probably more than mine.
“Look at the table. You drooled so much, it looks like it rained here.” I said as I crossed my arms.
“Hahahah that’s embarrassing…” He was blushing so hard, it surprised me. Especially after that glare. I’m not even sure if it was a glare anymore because his smile made me blush in turn.
“Okay I’ll be leaving now. Good luck with the ..uh…cleaning.”
“Wait, are you doing anything today?” He smiled.
“No I guess not” I smiled back at him.
“Then do you mind helping me out with something?” He smiled even brighter. I can’t tell if he’s just really friendly towards people or if he’s hitting on me.
“That depends on what it is” I kept telling myself to be natural. Na.tur.al. Whoo. What am I doing. I’m supposed to be planning out the perfect run away. Here I am talking to a guy who I’ve never met before. What if he’s a thug? Ugh I don’t even know. “Just kidding~! Sure why not.” (:
“Cool.” He started walking out the door. WITHOUT cleaning up the drool mess. ew. Whatever, he was entertaining enough for now. “Just follow me” I hesitated for a few moments. “Are you coming?”
“You do realize that I still don’t know your name yet?” I leaned on the table. Then I remembered about the drool and immediately backed off. I totally tripped over my own foot. So much for being an agent. The deep sleeper walked towards me and lent me his hand.
“It’s Dylan” He was still holding out his hand. Ha awkward. I ignored the hand and got up naturally as if i meant to fall.
“Yea I’m coming” I said trying not to look like a total loser.
He opened the door for me and said “Don’t trip.”
“Don’t drool.” I retorted but either way, I had no idea what I was getting myself into.
